Squad Levels

Senior Squad:

This level is suitable for a State or National level swimmer or a swimmer wanting to swim at this level. Swimmers in this squad must become a Glennie Gators Swim Club member.  Dryland warmups are conducted before training begins, consisting of core exercises, cardio and shoulder activation work. Swimmers at this level are aiming to achieve Swimming Queensland Club state qualifying times and/or Darling Downs School Swimming Selection. The Senior Squad train: Monday & Friday mornings 5.30am-6.30am and Tuesday and Thursday mornings 5.30am-7am and every weekday afternoon 4:45pm -6:15pm.

Senior Development Squad

This level is to develop our  junior swimmers to achieve State or National Levels and to enter the Senior Squad. Swimmers in this squad must become a Glennie Gators Swim Club member.  Dryland warmups are conducted before training begins, consisting of core exercises, cardio and shoulder activation work. Swimmers at this level are aiming to achieve Swimming Queensland Club state qualifying times and/or Darling Downs School Swimming Selection. The Senior Development Squad train alongside the Senior Squad Swimmers: Monday & Friday mornings 5.30am-6.30am and Tuesday and Thursday mornings 5.30am-7am and every weekday afternoon 4:45pm -6:15pm.

Fitness Squad

The Fitness Squad caters for those swimmers under 18 years of age who still love to swim but aren't necessarily interested at competing.. Many of the sporting groups such as the Glennie Water Polo Teams will train in this squad to increase their level of fitness. There is no stroke correction given in this squad. The Fitness Squad train: Monday, Wednesday & Friday mornings 6.30am-7.30am. Tuesday and Thursday afternoon 4:45pm to 6:00pm.

Intermediate Squad

This is an extension of our Development Squad, skills are further refined and endurance is increased in preparation for Senior Development Squad. Swimmers are encouraged to swim two to three times per week to gain the full benefit of the program. Swimmers at this level are encouraged to become members of the Glennie Gators Swim Club and attend club nights and specified swim meets. Swimmers at this level are aiming to achieve Swimming Queensland Club state qualifying times and/or Darling Downs School Swimming Selection. Development Squad trains Monday - Friday afternoon 3.45pm - 4.45pm

Development Squad:

This level aims to refine skills through implementing new drills to the young swimmer and refine the skills in each of the four strokes. As the swimmer physically adapts to better swimming skills we also work on increased endurance. Swimmers are encouraged to swim two to three times per week to gain the full benefit of the program. Swimmers at this level are encouraged to become members of the Glennie Gators Swim Club and attend club nights and specified swim meets. Swimmers at this level are aiming to achieve Swimming Queensland Club state qualifying times and/or Darling Downs School Swimming Selection. Development Squad trains Monday - Friday afternoon 3.45pm - 4.45pm
